LYNNWOOD — A hunt was on Wednesday for a man who allegedly fired a shotgun after being asked to return a car he’d borrowed.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies began searching about 11 a.m., east of Lynnwood.
The man they were hunting reportedly fired a shotgun blast into the driver’s side door of a 2001 Subaru Legacy he’d borrowed. He then drove away in the vehicle, sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
The incident unfolded in the 19400 block of 24th Avenue W. A woman had lent the car to the man and asked for it back. He refused, pointed a loaded shotgun in her direction, and then shot the car, Ireton said.
The car’s license plate is 468YJO. When last seen, the suspect was wearing a green hooded sweatshirt, camouflage pants, boots and a baseball cap.
Anyone who has information about the suspect or the vehicle was asked to call 911.
