Associated Press
BILLINGS, Mont. -- The attorneys general of Montana and North Dakota are pushing for limits on the upcoming environmental review for a proposed coal export terminal in Washington state.
Montana's Tim Fox and North Dakota's Wayne Stenehjem submitted combined comments this week on the Millennium Bulk Terminals proposed for Longview, Wash.
The terminal is under review by the Washington Department of Ecology. Fox and Stenehjem say any review that includes impacts of the project beyond Washington state could hurt industry efforts to ship more coal overseas.
Fox says access to those foreign markets is vital to Montana's economy.
