LYNNWOOD -- A bomb scare at the city of Lynnwood's permit center on Monday afternoon was a false alarm, according to police.
An item that seemed suspicious was left behind at the center on a desk or counter, police spokeswoman Lisa Wellington said. A bomb squad cleared the area and found nothing wrong. No injuries were reported.
Officers were clearing the center along 198th Street SW by 3:30 p.m., Wellington said.
The item was determined to be "an electronic cigarette device that had an extravagant battery backup charger system attached," she said.
