Holiday emphasis patrols planned on I-5

VANCOUVER -- State troopers will be conducting emphasis patrols for the Thanksgiving holiday along the entire West Coast stretch of Interstate 5 from San Diego to Bellingham.
Officials from the California Highway Patrol, Oregon State Police and Washington State Patrol announced the "Arrive Alive on I-5" challenge Monday at the WSP district headquarters in Vancouver.
The goal for holiday period from Wednesday evening through Sunday is zero fatalities on the freeway.
Troopers will be looking for speeders, and aggressive, distracted or impaired drivers.
Drivers are advised to prepare for traffic conditions and be patient.
