The school announced Kemp's condition Tuesday. He was officially diagnosed in early September and was slowed during preseason practices due to the illness. Kemp first started having symptoms in late July.
Graves' disease results in the overproduction of thyroid hormones.
The school's medical staff has developed a treatment plan for Kemp and believes his on-court performance will not be affected once the plan is in full effect. Kemp had to sit out much of the Huskies' preseason practice because of the condition.
Kemp has played in 60 career games for Washington, including 19 starts.
