SEATTLE — Microsoft has agreed to pay $33 million for enhancements to a transit station in Redmond, mostly for a bike and pedestrian bridge over Highway 520.
The Overlake Transit Center will be the eastern end of the Sound Transit East Link rail line.
The Seattle Times reported the bridge is scheduled to open in 2020, three years before the trains start running.
City officials say the bridge will support higher density development in the Overlake Village neighborhood next to the Microsoft campus were 40,000 employees work.
