Started to read the Nov. 22 paper in morning with my coffee. All sorts of negative information, wars, overseas and in Congress, corrupt government officials, etc. And then there was the story of Ray Hancock and his wife. Along with his fellow firefighters they brought joy (and warmth) to the kids at Liberty elementary. (Article, “Marysville firefighter offers aid even as he battles ALS.”)
In the face of a devastating disease, Mr. Hancock and his wife find time to think of others and donate to their cause.
But it wasn’t just a feel-good story and I want him and his wife to know that it inspired me to give to others this Christmas.
Because of their goodness, some other kids will have something this Christmas. I am going to make that happen and when it does, I’ll think of the couple that made me decide to do something for other kids.
Thank you both again,
Elaine Knapp
