Everett vs. Portland lineup notes, Winquist honored

First off, a nod to Everett’s Joshua Winquist, who today was named the WHL Player of the Month for November. Winquist had 12 goals and 16 assists in 14 games, recording a point in every single contest as he increased his franchise record points streak to 17. Winquist had some tough competition for the award just within the U.S. Division, as both Spokane’s Mitch Holmberg and Portland Nicolas Petan each had slightly more points per game than Winquist. But Winquist played in more games, thus finishing with more points, and I’m sure Winquist also received some consideration because of his points streak. Had Petan’s four-goal game come on Nov. 30 instead of Dec. 1, however, I suspect he would have received the nod ahead of Winquist.

Now onto the lineup notes:

EVERETT

Forward lines:

Winquist-Hayer-Sandhu

DeRoose-Khaira-Stadnyk

Leedahl-Bauml-Low

Fonteyne-Nikolishin-Bajkov

Defensive pairings:

Pufahl-Juulsen

Mueller-Adam

Betker-Davis

Goaltenders:

Lotz

Cotton

Scratches: Zipp, Aasman, MacDonald.

Notes: Everett plays without winger Logan Aasman, who flew home for personal reasons. Aasman is expected to rejoin the team Friday in Kelowna. With Aasman out, Brayden Low steps into the right-wing spot on Everett’s checking line.

PORTLAND

Forward lines:

Schoenborn-Turgeon-Iverson

Leier-De Leo-Bjorkstrand

Leipsic-Petan-Bittner

Alldridge/MacPherson-De Champlain-Price

Defensive pairings:

Viveiros-Pouliot

Cederholm-Hanson

Haar-Texeira

Goaltenders:

Burke

Schamerhorn

Scratches: Kopeck, McColgan, Rossignol, Alldridge/MacPherson.

Notes: Portland is without overage forwards Shane McColgan and Adam Rossignol, as well as center Presten Kopeck, because of upper-body injuries. Both winger Steven Alldridge and defenseman Shaun MacPherson will take the warm-up, but just one will dress for the game.
