Asked if this day-to-day, wait-and-see approach with Harvin is going to be the reality for the rest of the season, Carroll said, "I don’t know. I don’t know that. Maybe it will, maybe it won’t. we’ve just to wait and see how it goes. It’s going to be the next day after his work to see how he is, and make sure he’s strong and safe and secure and all of that. And we’re going to continue to try to figure it out with him.
Carroll did say that they have given not thought to the idea of shutting Harvin down until the playoffs: "No. We’re just trying to get him right. He wants to play right now, and we want him to play as soon as he’s capable."
On Brandon Browner, who has missed the past two games with a groin injury, and is awaiting word on the appeal of a suspension that was heard last week, Carroll said Harvin has a chance to practice today.
Carroll can't get into specifics on anything about the suspension, but did say they are surprised by how quickly Browner has come back.
"Early on we couldn’t tell you about the injury because he had a significant groin tear, but he managed it really well, and it was in a place that he could recover quickly," Carroll said. "So he’s come back much faster than we thought; we thought he was out a solid six weeks when it happened. It’s just responded tremendously, so he has a chance, he’s on the roster and he’s ready to compete for us if he’s can get back to practice this week, which I don’t know if he can, we’ll find that out. We’ll do this one day at a time, we’ll see what fits. I can’t go any further that one day at a time, because I don’t know any more than you guys know. We’ll see what happens."
Asked about other injuries, Carroll said Bruce Irvin (thigh) and Golden Tate (hip) would be limited today, but should both be fine.
