Associated Press
PULLMAN -- The Washington State football team planned to practice on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday as the Cougars wait to hear if they will be invited to a bowl game.
As a bowl-eligible team, Washington State (6-6, 4-5 Pac-12) is allowed to practice until the bowl games make their invitations on Sunday.
Coach Mike Leach told The Spokesman-Review that he believes the Cougars have a good chance of being invited to their first bowl game since 2003, because they played a tough schedule and won two of their final three games.
Athletic director Bill Moos has been in contact with the New Mexico Bowl. He has also reached out to contacts at ESPN, which is helping to stage the Heart of Dallas, Independence and Texas bowls.
