"He'll be out," Carroll said of Harvin "He will not play this week."
Carroll did express optimism that Harvin will play next week, saying, "We're looking forward to next week being a really important week. We think we've got a shot at it. We're hoping that next week is a big week for us with him."
On Browner, Carroll said the cornerback didn't respond well to the work he did early in the week. As for the suspension Browner is reportedly facing (he had his appeal heard last week) Carroll said, "I haven't heard a word."
Carroll said strongside linebacker Bruce Irvin, who missed Wednesday and Thursdsay's practice before returning to action Friday, "should be fine. He'll be ready to go.
Carroll also said James Carpenter will take over the starting job at left guard after splitting time there in the past two games with starter Paul McQuistan.
"He's earned that shot to do that," Carroll said.
One other note on the injury report (see below), quarterback Tarvaris Jackson missed a second straight day due to illness, and is listed as questionable. If he is still not feeling well tomorrow, the Seahawks may have to make a roster move to activate BJ Daniels off the practice squad, because Jackson is their only quarterback aside from Russell Wilson on the 53-man roster.
