Take a dream trip to South America or visit the gardens of Normandy along with 24 writers, but do it from the comfort of your favorite reading spot.
“Journeys Outward, Journeys Inward: Travel and Transformation” is a collection of “later life” travel essays, poems and photos, edited by Whidbey author Penelope Bourk.
Several of the contributors are from the Northwest and will read their work and talk about their adventures from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Clinton Community Hall on Whidbey Island.
Many stories involve the challenge and adventures of travel, and life in other countries and cultures.
The afternoon gathering includes tea and the contributors will sign copies of the book.
“Journeys Outward” lists at $15 for the black-and-white version and $26.25 for a full-color copy.
Clinton Community Hall is at 6411 Central Ave., up the hill from the Clinton ferry dock.
