Six different players had 3s and three of those had multiple 3s and the Warriors' long-range shooting helped to build an early advantage.
"They like to shoot the 3s," Edmonds-Woodway first-year head coach Rebekah Wells said. "It's just been the way they operate and the way they have done it in the past few years. I'm trying to get more dispersed into jump shots and get it into the posts, but when it works why stray away from something that's working."
The Warriors built a 22-9 lead at the end of the first quarter and led 40-18 at halftime before the Mavericks closed the gap in the second half. Meadowdale cut the lead to 13, but was never able to get it any closer.
"What we have to work on a lot is just our focus," Wells said. "Focus on the fundamentals and executing everything. When we get a little bit sloppy teams can comeback and Meadowdale's a very aggressive team."
Eight of the 11 players that played scored for Edmonds-Woodway and the Warriors exhibited balanced scoring throughout the game. Natalie Kasper and Mady Burdett each scored 12 to lead the Warriors and Maddy Nealey chipped in 11.
"They are a lot of girls that have the potential to score a lot," Wells said. "I think they are understanding where everyone else is. They've always had the potential to do it, but I just think they have a better feel and understanding. And it creates a little bit more opportunities for us."
Meadowdale's Mackenzie Bretz led all scorers with 15.
