Seems Like Yesterday

The Rev. Edwin Johnson, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, was named chairman of the board of Directors of Snohomish-Island Counties Chapter of the American Red Cross at the organization's annual meeting at the Masonic Temple. He succeeded Wally Young in the post.

Selected as King and Queen of the annual Everett Junior Chamber of Commerce Kiddies' Parade yesterday were Donald Wanser, Snohomish, and Jeanette Cockran, Everett. The royal party had a honor spot in this year's gala parade that attracted a large number of participants and spectators.

25 years ago (1988)

The Herald carriers of the month were Darren Massy, Time Bovey, Al Wagner, Matt Curry, Tracey Williams, Crystal Gannon, Alex Ross, Robby Eason, Aaron Guimont, Jesse Reddington, Jason Williams, Bobby Kimbrough, Bryant Hamman and Nathan Mount.

A big grin spread across the face of fourth-grader Alyssa Pagon as she left the library at Frank Wagner School in Monroe with something she treasured as much as a nugget of gold. Gripped tightly in both hands was a copy of "The Fourth Grade Wizards" by Barthe DeClements, which the Snohomish author had just signed.
