SULTAN — Two men were hurt Monday afternoon in a house fire in the Sultan area.
The fire broke out about 4 p.m. in the 33200 block of 132nd Street SE, northeast of town.
One man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with significant burns, Sultan Fire Chief Merlin Halverson said. A second man was taken to a local hospital. Their ages weren’t immediately available.
Damage was believed to be extensive. The cause of the fire remained under investigation Monday evening. The American Red Cross was assisting those displaced.
Crews from Sultan, Monroe and Gold Bar responded.
