NEWPORT — A northeast Washington woman says she returned home one recent evening to learn that thieves had taken the 30-foot recreational vehicle that she and her daughter called home. Also missing were her dog, her cat and her turtle.
KXLY-TV reported that barbed wire strung across the driveway didn’t deter the thieves, nor did the fact that the RV’s tires were flat.
Leah Watson of Newport said she and her 3-year-old daughter had been living on a friend’s property for the past four months. The property owner reportedly didn’t hear or see anything amiss on Nov. 29.
Watson said she and her daughter are staying with family. She hopes someone has seen the RV and her animals.
KXLY-TV said tips can go to the Pend Oreille County sheriff’s office.
