YAKIMA — A trial is underway in Yakima for a repeat sex offender who prosecutors say should be kept locked up indefinitely as a sex predator.
The state attorney general’s office says Jonathan Parsons should be held at the Special Commitment Center on McNeil Island.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reported the 38-year-old is completing a 14-year prison sentence for his third sex crime involving a child.
His lawyer told jurors Wednesday that Parsons was abused as a child himself and confused about his sexuality. He underwent treatment in prison.
