Oregon jury awards no money in snowboarder's death
The Oregonian reported that jurors deliberated for less than three hours before finding 9-3 on Friday that Skibowl was not at fault in the death of Taylur DeWolf.
Her parents contended Skibowl operated a dangerous run and was negligent in failing to place warning poles along a particularly dangerous edge of the run near the tree the girl hit.
When the trial started last week, the estate was seeking more than $4.6 million.
Skibowl said the girl was snowboarding beyond her abilities and moving far too fast.
The newspaper said jurors described the death as a tragedy, but most thought Skibowl wasn't liable.
