Woman killed on Highway 101 near Shelton

SHELTON -- The Washington State Patrol said a woman was struck and killed on Highway 101 near Shelton about 3 a.m. Monday when she walked into the path of a semi-truck.
Trooper Russ Winger said the woman had been reported for driving erratically by a driver who was following her. Winger said a trooper was on the way when the woman ran off the road, disabling her car.
Winger said the man who followed her tried to get her to stay at the car, but she wandered onto the highway into the path of the truck. The driver couldn't stop. She died at the scene.
She's identified as 19-year-old Rebecca E. Martinson of Olympia.
