Stanwood | Boys basketball
In a big week, the Spartans post delivered, scoring 25 points, grabbing 15 rebounds and blocking six shots in a 65-59 win over 4A power Union and scoreing 18 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a win over rival Arlington. Stang also had 13 points in a win over Oak Harbor as Stanwood went 3-0 in the week.
Nominees: Eric Matson, Cedar Park Christian-Mountlake Terrace; Dan Kingma, Jackson; Karl Spencer, Granite Falls.
Jasmin Edwards
Lynnwood | Girls basketball
The Royals point guard scored a game-high 19 points and, in the words of Lynnwood coach Everett Edwards, was the team's "rock" in a double-overtime win over Mount Rainier.
Nominees: Sidney Eck, Edmonds-Woodway; Sidney Rielly, Everett; Marissa Blair, Lakewood; Keyonna Jones, Shorecrest
Hunter Lord
Lynnwood | Wrestling
The Royals grappler won the 170-pound championship by pinning each one of his opponents and was named the outstanding wrestler of the touranment at the Edmonds Invite.
Nominee: West Weinert, Stanwood; Ciaran Ball, Meadowdale.
Shelby Lee
Kamiak | Boys swimming
The Knight swimmer won two individual races and helped a pair of Kamiak relay teams to victory as Kamiak beat Shorecrest and qualified for state in each event and the 400 free relay as well.
