MUKILTEO — Police in Mukilteo and Everett on Tuesday caught three people accused of following a mail delivery truck to steal packages.
A neighbor along 46th Place W. saw it happening at 10:52 a.m. and called 911, according to the Mukilteo Police Department.
Mukilteo officers sent an alert to neighboring police, department spokesman Colt Davis said. About 40 minutes later, Everett police located the suspects near the Everett Mall.
Their truck was impounded. Investigators on Wednesday were seeking a search warrant for the truck, Davis said.
The three suspects were interviewed by detectives. Two of them had warrants for their arrest and were booked into the county jail, Davis said. The third was released pending further investigation.
Police expect to seek additional charges after the search warrant is served, Davis said.
