A new vodka will debut at Skip Rock Distillers in Snohomish on Saturday.
The black peppercorn vodka is a joint venture between Skip Rock and Badger Pocket Vodka of Central Washington.
The company was founded by Jeff Leichleiter, a co-founder of Tim’s Cascade Potato Chips. Some of the potatoes used for the vodka were grown on Badger Pocket’s property.
The vodka is 70 proof. The peppercorns add both a bit of sweetness and spice to the spirits. Ryan Hembree of Skip Rock says the peppercorns were kept whole, which added a good flavor to the vodka without an overwhelming spiciness. He says it works well for Bloody Mary’s and other cocktails.
The release party for the vodka is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Skip Rock is at 104 Ave. C, Snohomish. Call 360-862-0272 for more information.
