GRANITE FALLS — Police and the Granite Falls School District are investigating a series of anonymous online threats made toward high school students.
The threats were made on “ask.fm,” a social media website, district spokeswoman Elizabeth Holderman said Thursday. The threats were reported to the district on Monday.
“Both Granite Falls administration and law enforcement strongly encourage the parents within the community to closely monitor their children’s social media activity,” she said.
The threats involves specific acts against students who were identified by name, she said. Some threats mentioned a bomb.
“The threats are inconsistent and appear to be invalid,” she said.
School remains in session, and security measures have been taken, she said. An automated voicemail went out to district families twice on Wednesday.
