MUKILTEO — Police in Mukilteo have taken nearly two pounds of methamphetamine and 57.4 grams of heroin off the street, department spokesman Colt Davis said Thursday.
Mukilteo officers seized a van from a crime scene in late November, Davis said. This week, they obtained a judge’s permission to search the van.
Officers found the drugs and $4,800 inside, Davis said. The drugs alone had a street value of nearly $20,000.
Officers initially were summoned Nov. 29 for a report of suspicious activity in the 3900 block of Harbour Pointe Boulevard SW. They found several people there associated with a GMC Safari van, Davis said. Some of the people there were known to officers.
“A drug dog alerted on the van,” Davis said. “This alert indicated the presence of narcotics.”
Several arrests were made. Police now are asking prosecutors to charge the suspects with drug possession and distribution, Davis said.
