Seahawks snow-day links

First, an update on an item from yesterday. If you missed it, a group of Seahawks fans have decided to make the next move in a back-and-forth between Seahawks and 49ers fans a charitable one. Noting that the ‘Niners fan effort to purchase a billboard in Seattle included any extra money raised to go to Seattle Children’s Hospital, a group of Seahawks fans started a campaign to raise money for UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital. Pretty cool idea, right? Well the effort is gaining traction, with the Clearwater Casino Resort agreeing yesterday to match donations up to $5,000, then this morning I got this email update from one of the Seahawks fans organizing the campaign:

“Super exciting update! A "Anonymous Fan" of the 49ers has officially offered to match whatever we raise for UCSF and donate it Seattle Children's Hospital ... UP TO $100,000!!!

I think San Francisco just said "Challenge Accepted!"

Now, onto the rest of the links.

CBSSports.com has Russell Wilson third in its MVP projections.

Seahawks.com puts the spotlight on DT Clinton McDonald, who has been playing very well this season after being released, then re-signed.

The word out of Arizona is that Larry Fitzgerald thinks he’ll be ready to play after suffering a concussion last weekend, but is still waiting for medical clearance.

From Mike Silver of NFL.com, a cool oral history of Candlestick Park, which will soon be hosting its final game before the 49ers move to a new stadium. You may not like the 49ers much, but it’s undeniable that that stadium has seen a lot of historic moments.
