Today is deadline to seek pot business license
As of Tuesday, the state Liquor Control Board had received 2,444 applications to grow, process or sell cannabis under the state's recreational pot law.
Of the total, 1,116 are from those seeking a license to grow. Another 816 are for processing which covers everything from packaging of buds to cooking into brownies.
The board received 512 applications to operate a retail store. However, the state will only license 334 stores initially, meaning many of those hopefuls will be turned away.
A final tally on the number of applications for each of the three types of licenses is expected by Jan. 7. The state board has posted a searchable list of applicants on this page.
