Last day to apply for Wash. pot business licenses

OLYMPIA -- If you're hoping to get into the legal marijuana business in Washington state, it's time to get your paperwork in.
Friday marks the last day the state's Liquor Control Board is accepting applications for licenses to grow, proceess or sell cannabis under the recreational adult-use law passed last year.
As of this week, the board had received 2,444 applications, including 512 retail store applications.
The state isn't capping the number of growers or processors, but says it will only allow 334 pot shops statewide. Some areas are expected to face a lottery for the retail licenses.
The application window opened Nov. 18, with a deadline of 5 p.m. Friday.
