NEW YORK — The New York Police Department says a man and a child have died after plummeting from a Manhattan apartment building.
Authorities say they received an emergency call reporting two jumpers from the 52-floor building around noon Sunday. Officers found a 35-year-old man and a 3-year-old child on the ground when they arrived.
Police say the man was pronounced dead at the scene and the child was pronounced dead at a local hospital. No identifications have been released.
The circumstances of the fall are unclear. Authorities are investigating.
The address is an Upper West Side rental building listed as South Park Tower. The building is a short distance away from Columbus Circle and Lincoln Center.
