If there are electronics under your tree this Christmas, they probably come with Styrofoam packaging. Polystyrene (made from petroleum, using benzene) can last almost forever in a landfill. By volume, Styrofoam takes as much as 30 percent of landfills worldwide. We just can’t continue to build these monuments to Styrofoam. Our landfills are loaded, and need your help. Please consider recycling your Styrofoam packaging free locally at Busy Beaver Recycling, 101 E Marine View Drive, Everett. Phone: 425.339.0117. Hours: 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. They grind the Styrofoam, melt it, form it and send itto be made into computer cases, phones and other items.
