Are the Seahawks close to shutting Percy Harvin down?
Asked Tuesday if a roster move could be coming with Harvin, Carroll said only, "That may happen."
At this point the only move the Seahawks could make with Harvin, who has played in only one game this season after returning from hip surgery, would be to place him on injured reserve, so clearly that is an option the Seahawks are considering.
In the past, Carroll's answer to the big-picture questions on Harvin indicated they hoped to have the receiver back for the playoffs; now he's acknowledging that a roster move is a real possibility.
And with cornerback Walter Thurmond eligible to return from a four-game suspension this week, that's a move we could see happen late in the week (Thurmond can practice this week without being added to the 53-man roster, but a move needs to be made by Saturday for him to play in the game).
On Russell Okung, who is battling soreness in the toe that earlier in the year sidelined him for eight weeks, Carroll said, "He was in walkthrough today. We haven’t gone to practice yet, but he got through the walkthrough today, so that’s a good sign. He’s going to be a little bit sore no matter what, but he should be ready to go."
Golden Tate had a wrap on his thumb and told reporters it was "probably a sprain or something," but Carroll said, "He’s OK. He’s going today, he’s fine."
On receiver Jermaine Kearse, Carroll said, "He’s got an ankle that’s bothering him a bit, he’ll be slow today." Carroll then added, "Richard Sherman will be slow today just from wear and tear, but those guys should bounce back by Thursday we would hope."
