Receiver Jermaine Kearse missed a third straight day with an ankle injury, but Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said there’s still a chance Kearse could play.
“He’s going to be a game-day decision, we’ll see how he goes,” Carroll said. “He’s going to run now after practice and we’ll see where he is. We won’t know until game-day.”
The news is better on Red Bryant, who returned to practice after missing the previous two days with a knee injury.
“Red practiced today, did really well,” Carroll said. “We’ll list him as probable. He came through the week just fine.”
On CB Walter Thurmond who returned from a four-game suspension this week, Carroll said, “He had a great week. He worked out really hard during the break and came back here really full speed and is ready to play.”
Asked if Thurmond will in fact be activated for the game, Carroll said, there’s a good chance.”
If Thurmond does play, however, don’t look for him to step back into the starting lineup.
“(Byron Maxwell) is going to start, yeah,” Carroll said. “… Byron has played great football for us, and I think he’s on the kind of rhythm that we want to take out there for a game like this. There’s no reason to put Walter in that situation after just one week of practice. But Walter’s ready to play, if he’s active he’ll be out there helping us out, but it’s really a statement about what Byron Maxwell has done and the way he’s played, so we’re thrilled to put him out there again.”
Asked if Doug Baldwin would handle kick return duties, Carroll said, “Doug’s going to get some turns back there, yeah. Hopefully not too many.”
