RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif – The Jackson boys basketball team got the big trophy Monday night but Timberwolves' star Jason Todd added a little hardware to his collection as well.

The senior wing was named the Most Valuable Player of the MaxPreps Holiday Classic, a tournament in Southern California that draws some of the top teams from around the country. Todd had a double-double in all four of Jackson's games as the Timberwolves won the 24-team Invitational Division.

It's the latest award for Todd who is the reigning Gatorade Washington Player of the Year, 4A state tournament MVP and The Herald's Player of the Year.

"I told him last night, 'Hey, I just appreciate your will to win and your spirit,'" said Jackson head coach Steve Johnson on Sunday, the day before Jackson clinched the tournament title with a 54-45 win over Capital Christian. "The intensity, it's not something I take for granted. He has a will. He's just a great leader and a warrior in the way he approaches it."
