Murder charge in Fox Island stabbing death

TACOMA — Bail has been set at $2 million for a 30-year-old man charged with first-degree murder in a Nov. 20 stabbing death near a Fox Island gas station.

Pierce County prosecutors allege that Jason Madron and a group of friends drove from Tacoma to the gas station to meet Jacob Glenn, 23, of Gig Harbor, for a drug deal. Prosecutors allege in court papers that a dispute arose, Madron and Glenn struggled and the younger man was fatally stabbed.

The News Tribune reported that a woman who heard Madron talking about the stabbing shortly after it happened contacted police this month. She earlier denied knowing anything about it.

Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said detectives who searched Glenn’s home think he was a drug dealer. Glenn’s family has said he was not involved with drugs.
