Say or pay: Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch was fined $50,000 by the NFL for keeping his mouth shut. Lynch, up until a team news conference Friday, had politely declined to speak to reporters during the entire regular season, a violation of the league’s media policy.
Marshawn, it’s a ridiculous fine, but let us help you out. Just repeat the following after every game: “We came to play. It was a team effort. We gave 110 percent.”

Don’t know much about history: On this day in 1994, American figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was clubbed on the knee. The ex-husband of Kerrigan’s rival, Tonya Harding, was one of four men sent to prison for the attack.
In recognition of the anniversary, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that knee-clubbing would be an exhibition sport at next month’s Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia. Harding will be invited to throw the first club.
