EVERETT — A Federal Way man died early Friday morning after being struck by a car here along Highway 99 the night before.
The collision was reported just before 10 p.m. in the highway’s southbound lanes near Gibson Road, about a mile outside Everett city limits, according to a Washington State Patrol memo.
The pedestrian Dahai Guan, 30, was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He died there at 1:50 a.m. Friday, according to the State Patrol.
The driver, a 37-year-old Lynnwood man in a 1999 Chevrolet Metro, was unhurt.
Troopers believe Guan may have stepped in front of the driver. He was not in a crosswalk at the time.
The investigation was ongoing Friday. The southbound lanes of the highway were closed for about an hour Thursday night.
