Isn’t there a Starbucks at the top? After drier-than-normal months in the fall and early winter, snow finally is falling in the Cascades, allowing the slopes at Snoqualmie Pass to open. Stevens Pass, at a higher elevation, opened earlier.

The staff at Buzz Laboratories also have a new app, Blechly, that allows dieters to scroll through poorly lit photos of the meals of glop that people post to Facebook, causing them to lose their appetites.
