Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

Isn’t there a Starbucks at the top? After drier-than-normal months in the fall and early winter, snow finally is falling in the Cascades, allowing the slopes at Snoqualmie Pass to open. Stevens Pass, at a higher elevation, opened earlier.

Stevens regulars may have noticed a few Snoqualmie skiers in the chair next to them. Here’s how to tell the difference: They’re the skiers with the ski pole-warmers in their Range Rovers.

Is the water gluten-free? Among new apps designed to help you keep your resolutions,Yummly lets dieters scroll through photos of dishes that filter for gluten-free, low-fat or vegetarian recipes.

The staff at Buzz Laboratories also have a new app, Blechly, that allows dieters to scroll through poorly lit photos of the meals of glop that people post to Facebook, causing them to lose their appetites.
