EDMONDS — Clutch free throws down the stretch and a rebounding edge proved key in Snohomish’s 55-50 victory over Edmonds-Woodway in a Wesco 4A game on Tuesday night.
“We went 7-for-12 from the line in the fourth,” said Panthers head coach Len Bone. “That was probably the difference. We didn’t make a lot of our free-throws, but we made enough.”
Snohomish’s leading scorer of the night, Josh Baird scored five of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, all of which came from the free-throw line.
The Warriors were short-handed on Tuesday with several players missing the game due to the flu. The Panthers took advantage of the lack of key Edmonds-Woodway post players by outrebounding them on both ends of the court.
“I believe we were plus six on the boards,” said Bone. “It’s a pretty big deal to outrebound a team like (Edmonds-Woodway), especially since they have a couple big guys that go real hard after those boards.”
Panther’s senior forward Wyatt Harris grabbed nine rebounds and Tanner Arrington added 12 points and six rebounds off the bench.
