Front Porch: Stanwood hotel’s historic saloon reopens
The bar in the historic Stanwood Hotel & Saloon has reopened after eight weeks of renovations.
Owner and general manager Marilyn Guthrie said that work on the building’s foundation required that the old bar be removed and replaced.
Guthrie said that work will continue on other parts of the building, starting with the exterior south wall, whose siding is exposed to the elements. So far there haven’t been any leaking problems inside.
