It’s time once again for our weekly chat with Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch, who while brief, continues to play nice with the media, which should help him avoid that $50,000 fine the NFL tried to slap him with after he didn’t talk throughout the regular season.
I’d link to the audio again, but the music Lynch had playing at his locker would be rather inappropriate for a family newspaper. Sorry.
How thankful you for the trade to Seattle? “Very thankful.”
Could you have imagined it turning out this well? “Nah, I’m just happy with the situation I’m in.”
What does it mean to be in NFC championship game? “It’s just one step closer to the big show.”
Is it more special that it’s against the 49ers? “It don’t matter who it was.”
Thoughts on their linebackers? “They’re good players.”
What impresses you about them? “I just respect those guys.”
What makes their front-seven tough? “They just play their game, man. They’re good players and they make plays. That’s what they get paid for.”
What did you learn about Pete Carroll after coming here? “That he’s the same every day.”
What did Carroll do to make you comfortable in Seattle? “He just gives you the opportunity to be yourself.”
What was your reaction to trade when it happened? “I was excited.”
What does it mean to be at this stage, one game from the Super Bowl? “Our team feels like we ain’t done nothing yet.”
How would you evaluate your season? “Pretty good. Pretty good.”
Thoughts on 49ers RB Frank Gore? “He’s a good talented back. I respect his game. That’s for every running back, though.”
What makes their linebackers so good? “Just their overall game. They make plays.”
