Friday Seahawks links

So, big football game coming up, yes? If you're too excited to work today, then try reading about football to pass the day.

From today's Herald, Doug Baldwin opens up about his at-times rocky relationship with Jim Harbaugh, which in retrospect, he says, helped him become the player he is now.

From the News Tribune, a look at Colin Kaepernick, who is attempting to exorcise his CenturyLink Field demons. Also in the TNT, Todd Dybas chatted with Fran Tarkenton about Russell Wilson.

Two very good reads over at First, a look at how Pete Carroll is getting the last laugh in Seattle thanks to his defensive mastery. Also, a story suggesting that people stop complaining about Seattle's defense, and instead learn to embrace its greatness (warning, some foul language in this one).

Richard Sherman has another column in, which sings the praises of Byron Maxwell.

Also at, Doug Farrar on the underrated Brandon Mebane, as well as a story wondering if the NFL will ever change its stance on marijuana. It's an interesting topic, especially considering both of this weekend's games will take place in states that have legalized the drug.

Tim Booth of the Associate Press notes that, while Seattle's fans give the team a big boost, they can make communication tough on the defense.

From USA Today, Richard Sherman on the desire of Seattle's defense to be one of the best ever.

Sam Farmer of the LA Times on Derrick Coleman, Seattle's legally deaf fullback, who is suddenly enjoying celebrity status thanks to a moving Duracell commercial:

The Seattle Times' Jayson Jenks with a very good profile on Pete Carroll.
