Wow, you did it again! In 2013, the community of Marysville and beyond rallied to support families in need through generous gifts like never before. The Marysville Community Food Bank received tons of food, thousands of toys and incredible support, enabling us to provide assistance to thousands of neighbors in need of a helping hand during the year. This included providing holiday food baskets to 1,262 families and gifts to 1,055 children during the holidays.
Many are responsible for the success in 2013 through donations and volunteer time. An enormous thank you goes out to local businesses, clubs, service groups, fire stations, churches, city employees, the U.S. Navy, the police department, the U.S. Postal Service, the Tulalip Tribes and hundreds of caring individuals. And then there are those amazing students. The students in local schools were responsible for providing over 40,000 pounds of food during the course of the year and giving thousands of hours collecting food and helping at the food bank. What I have learned from other food banks in the county, the support from students was magnificent everywhere. Hats off to an incredibly giving generation that is making, and will continue to make, a powerful impact in this world!
