Celebrate Robert Burns’ life with food, music
The band’s annual Burns Night Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Nile Country Club, 6601 244th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace. The event includes the traditional parade of the haggis, Highland dancing and bagpiping, door prizes and a raffle.
The Kenmore & District Pipe Band was formed in 2001 by a group of musicians with an appreciation for Scottish pipes and drums. They decided to get together to improve their skills. Some members had previous piping and drumming experience and others were beginners.
The band now includes men and women of all ability levels, all ages and from a variety of backgrounds. Band members live in Bellevue, Coupeville, Edmonds, Issaquah, Lynnwood, Shoreline and Snohomish.
For tickets, priced at $40, see www.kdpipeband.com.
