Producers of the 2014 Seattle Boat Show changed the play at the line of scrimmage and closed their big production a day early. This was done, of course, so that “exhibitors, event staff and showgoers can watch the (Super Bowl) with their friends and families.”
The event closes at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 1, which leaves boating enthusiasts with nine full days to visit the West Coast’s largest boat show. The show opens at 11 a.m. Friday in the CenturyLink Field Event Center and on the water at south Lake Union.
As a bonus, the show has arranged with CenturyLink to allow field access to showgoers/Seahawks fans each day of the show except Jan. 29-30. The field will be open from noon until 2 p.m., letting the public wander the turf, sport their Seahawks gear, and get a feel for how big the place is.
“There aren’t many opportunities for the public to walk out onto the field,” said George Harris, president of the Northwest Marine Trade Association. “It’s going to be a fun experience for a lot of people, and we’re pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to our guests in the lead-up to the Super Bowl. Go Hawks!”
Show hours at the event center are 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays; 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays; and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Hours at south Lake Union are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends. A free shuttle runs continuously between the two locations.
Tickets are $12 for adults; $5 for youth 11-17; free for kids 10 and under; $8 Monday through Thursday after 5 p.m.; and five days for $24.
