Police investigate woman’s death, husband’s stabbing

EVERETT — Everett police detectives continue to piece together the circumstances surrounding Thursday’s shooting death of an Everett mother inside a south Everett apartment.
The woman shared the apartment with her husband and two young children. The woman’s husband had been stabbed and was rushed to a local hospital.
He was released from the hospital and detectives interviewed the man Friday, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said.
No one had been arrested in connection with the deadly shooting.
Police believe the incident occurred between the couple and no one else is suspected of being involved, Snell said. Police aren’t saying what they think transpired inside the apartment.
Officers were called around 5 p.m. Thursday for a report of shots fired at Walden Pond Apartments in the 9900 block of 12th Avenue W.
Police located the deceased woman inside an apartment. Officers also encountered the husband, who had obvious stab wounds.
The couple’s two toddler-aged children also were inside. They were not injured.
Social workers with Child Protective Services took temporary custody of the children.
Snell said Friday he didn’t believe that officers had been called to the couple’s apartment in the recent past.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the identity of the woman. No other details were made available Friday.
