Buckle up your boots and meet at the Camano Multipurpose Center for a guided walk at Camano Ridge Forest on Feb. 1.
The winter walk with Friends of Camano Island Parks begins at 9:50 a.m. The first half-mile of the 3.3-mile loop is uphill with a 200-foot elevation gain. After that the trail evens out. The hike takes about two hours and takes place rain or shine.
Dress for the weather and wear sturdy walking shoes or boots. And don’t bring your canine walking partner. Dogs are not allowed because of safety concerns.
Booklets about the trail and maps are available for a $1 donation.
The Camano Multipurpose Center is at 141 East Camano Drive. Call 360-387-0889 or email focip.carolt@gmail.com for more information.
