Consider cost of measure

I received my ballot for the February vote on $66.8 million in general obligation bonds proposed by the Lakewood School District for improvements to Lakewood High School. There was no voter information included with the ballot, so I searched and found the levy will be 51 cents per $1,000 of assessed home value for 20 years. Voters recently added a 2.8 cents per $1,000 levy to their tax bill in 2012. I’ll let others draw conclusions: I just wanted to make sure the cost behind the “Vote Yes” signs posted all over the 7 Lakes area is brought to light.
