The Lake Stevens Volleyball Club’s U-14 Blue squad won the YESS Martin Luther King Tournament on Jan. 20 in Springfield, Ore.
YESS stands for Youth Education Sports Services.
Lake Stevens, ranked third in the Puget Sound Region by USA Volleyball, posted an 11-0 record in the three-day tournament, including a 25-8, 25-12 victory over the Oregon Volleyball Academy in the championship match.
Standouts for Lake Stevens included Natalie AhYat of Snohomish (35 aces), Marley McDonald of Lake Stevens, (39 digs), Bailey Nelson of Marysville (2.03 passing percentage, ,264 hitting percentage), Hannah Aaenson of Granite Falls (.265 hitting percentage) and Maggie Irving of Anacortes (.262 hitting percentage).
Other members of the team included Alexa McClintock of Marysville, Kam Root of Lake Stevens, IzSabella Haviland of Lake Stevens, Sydney Bridewell of Snohomish, Ainsley Mattingly of Lake Stevens, Lillian Eason of Lake Stevens and Aleah Stratton of Snohomish.
The team was coached by Rachelle Manske, Derek Stratton and Delaney Watson.
