Everett officials identify woman fatally shot Jan. 23

EVERETT — Officials have identified a 23-year-old Everett woman who was shot to death Jan. 23.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has not determined the circumstances surrounding Gaylynn Nicole Jones’ death, according to a news release Wednesday.
Jones died from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the medical examiner.
Police were called to her south Everett apartment along 12th Avenue W. after the shooting. They found her husband with stab wounds.
The investigation is ongoing, and the husband has not been arrested. The couple’s children were taken into protective custody after the shooting.
Police have not released additional information about what they believe happened.
