On Edmonds schoolsJ. Marie Riche of Ideal Communications will lead a discussion at the next Superintendent’s Roundtable, from noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 5, in the boardrooms of the district administration office, 20420 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Discussion will center on the district’s strategic direction, “Vision 2020.” More info: 425-431-7000.
Special education meeting: An Edmonds School District Special Education PTSA parent meeting will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 in Rooms 101-102 at the Educational Services Center, 20420 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood. Learn about transition from grade to grade and school to school throughout a student’s years. The program features district staff and parents who have “been there.” Children are welcome. Heart screenings for youths: The Nick of Time Foundation will provide comprehensive heart screenings to the first 500 young people who register for an event scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 12 in the gym of Meadowdale High School, 6002 168th St. SW, Lynnwood.
Anyone ages 12-24 who lives in the Edmonds School District may register. Registration is required. Go to nickoftimefoundation.org/screening.
The event is in memory of Meadowdale student Matthew Truax, who died Sept. 13 of a heart condition called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
